Audio-Video Requirements
Real-time two-way audio-visual communication required Mandatory
The signer and notary must be able to communicate simultaneously by sight and sound through an electronic device at the time of the notarial act.

Commission Requirements
FL - Remote Online Notarization (RON)
RON is available. You must first hold an active Florida commission, complete RON education, obtain a $25,000 RON bond, contract with a DOS-approved RON technology provider, and register as an online notary with the Department of State; a 10-year recording retention requirement applies.

Remote online notarization requires credential analysis of a government-issued photo ID AND knowledge-based authentication (KBA) with a passing score of at least 80% on 5 questions within 2 attempts.

Journal Requirements
Electronic journal permitted for RON Mandatory
A notary performing remote online notarization may maintain the required journal in electronic form provided it is tamper-evident and accessible for the required retention period.

Notary journal mandatory - Florida Mandatory
Florida notaries are required to keep a journal of notarial acts. Each entry must include: date, type of notarial act, name of signer, type and number of ID presented, and fee charged.

Seal & Certificate Requirements
