Basic Notary operates an online platform that connects individuals and businesses with independent notaries public for in-person, mobile, and remote online notarization (RON).
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, mobile phone number, password, and role (client, notary, or business).
- Profile and verification information — for notaries, commission details, service areas, and related credentials you provide.
- Appointment information — details you provide to request, schedule, or complete a notarization.
- Payment information — processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications — messages, requests, and support inquiries you send through the Services.
- Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, collected automatically to operate and secure the Services.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services and connect clients with notaries.
- To schedule, confirm, and deliver notarization appointments and send service-related notices.
- To send account and appointment emails and other communications you request.
- To process payments, prevent fraud, and maintain the security and integrity of the Services.

Text messaging and mobile information
If you opt in to receive text messages, we will send account- and appointment-related SMS messages to the mobile number you provide. SMS opt-in is a separate, independent agreement and is described in detail in our SMS Consent & Messaging Terms. Opting in to SMS is not required to use basicnotary.com.
No mobile information or SMS opt-in consent will be shared with, or sold to, third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that help us deliver these messages (for example, our SMS provider), and only as needed to operate the messaging program. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
How we share information
- With notaries and clients as needed to fulfill a notarization you request (for example, sharing appointment details between the parties to a booking).
- With service providers (such as hosting, payment, email, and SMS providers) who process information on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Services.
- In a business transfer in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
